Meeting Minutes

Date: December 3, 2025

1. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by Steve Elftmann, President.


2. Attendance

Board Members Present:

  • Steve Elftmann, President
  • Amy Elftmann, Administrative Officer / Treasurer

Board Member Absent:

  • Joelle McClure (resigned, effective at this meeting)

Residents in Attendance:
18 neighbors attended.

Guests:

  • Ryan Adelberg, Legislative Aide, City Council District 1
  • St. Petersburg Fire Rescue representatives
  • Officer James Montanez, Community Service Officer

3. City Update

Ryan Adelberg provided an update from District 1 and answered questions. Highlights included:

  • The Science Center project is in the final stages of acquiring the land from the City.
  • The Jungle Pier rebuild is still planned; however, the design now reflects a shorter pier than originally proposed.
  • No significant updates regarding potential development at Tyrone Square Mall.

4. Community Service Officer Report

We welcomed our new Community Service Officer, Officer James Montanez, who introduced himself and provided a brief report:

  • 16 calls in the neighborhood in recent months
  • No major incidents to report

5. Toy Drive Collection

St. Pete Fire Rescue arrived by fire truck to collect our neighborhood’s donations for Margie’s Toy Drive.
Thanks to the generosity of Azalea residents, hundreds of dollars in gifts were donated.


6. Neighborhood Social Time

Cookies and bagels were shared, and neighbors had the opportunity to mingle and speak informally with one another and with city representatives.


7. Board Election

The annual board election was held.

  • Steve and Amy were re-elected to the Board of Directors.
  • Joelle has stepped down, leaving the Board with two serving directors at this time.

8. Adjournment

The meeting concluded at approximately 7:15 pm.
